Oktoberfest Brewer’s Kick Off- September 16th

Oktoberfest is the perfect time to draw together the many local brewmasters crafting German-style beers for a great celebration!
 
Altstadt has assembled brewers from around the state to bring their Oktoberfest brews for guests to discover, alongside the restaurant’s authentic and house made German fare. The First Annual Oktoberfest Brewer’s Kick-Off starts at 4:00 pm and will include a traditional keg-tapping, live music with Lauren Murphie and the Sodo 4 and your chance to mingle with some of Washington’s top German style brewers.
 
The traditional keg-tapping with Bitburger will spotlight the Benediktiner Oktoberfest beer and get the party started.

Each brewery has developed a special Oktoberfest beer for the season that they’ll present at the event. Taste them all and vote for the audience choice that will receive special menu recognition and a craft beer cocktail for fall!

Join Altstadt on the Road to Voracious at this interactive Pike Place Market tour and cooking class with Executive Chef Megan Coombes. Eat Seattle Tours is hosting local chefs every month in this year long build up to Seattle Weekly’s annual foodie heaven to be held this October 6th at Fisher Pavilion.

This will be the kick off the Oktoberfest season for Altstadt and will feature an Oktoberfest inspired meal alongside the acclaimed Pike Brewing Comapny’s beers. Tickets are $115 and space is very limited. Get yours here today!

Herringsalat Sweeps Seattle

With our new summer menu we welcome Herringsalat, a delightfully fresh fish dish that harkens back to truly traditional German cuisine. Our take is a modern classic with herring prepared three ways, roasted beets, beet puree, pickled strawberries, dill gherkin pickles and egg. Party Like It’s 1516

In celebration of the 500th anniversary of the German Beer Laws, Altstadt will be hosting a day of beer (not that most days aren’t!).

Join us for $5 .5L Bitburgers, .3L Weihenstephaner 1516 Kellerbier and .3L Bayreuther 1516 Lagers, beer filled food specials, raffles, music and more as we commemorate this milestone in German Beer Purity.

Beer Flights Are Taking Off

Altstadt is proud to now be serving three beer flight options (a light, a dark and a traditional German styles flight). This will now give you the opportunity to sample a variety of our unique Fassbier (drafts) before deciding what to choose.

Join us on March 3rd and enjoy a unique Altstadt meal while supporting FareStart!

Altstadt chefs and FareStart students will be preparing a delicious meal highlighting the bounty of spring. We’ll start with smoked trout, braised black salsify and nettle buere blanc, move onto a beer braised lamb shank with pea and bacon salad and parsley root puree and finish with chocolate mousse, candied hazelnuts, hazelnut meringue and cocoa nibs.

Two Years of Altstadt

We want to say a big Thank You to our amazing guests, staff, family and friends for allowing us to make Pioneer Square our home for the last two years. Becoming a part of this community- a community of Germans and Germophiles, locals and visitors, beergarden revelers and the best sports fans a city could have- means the world to us.

We have sold a lot of brezeln and even more Bitburger which is why, to say thank you, we are offering $2 .5L Bitburger and $2 Brezels all day on Wednesday, November 18th.
